For those of you whom we haven’t had a chance to tell in person yet, we will be having another baby in July! In about four months time, our little cozy family of three will have to make room in our hearts and home for another little Chen boy. Larry and I are very excited and even CC (although I don’t think he quite understands yet) likes to tell his baby brother in mommy’s tummy that he loves him. So I’m sure we will have no problem making room in our hearts for the little addition coming this summer. Making room for another baby in our little two-bedroom home, however, will prove to be a challenge.
At least now I finally feel like my energy level is starting to go back up and the motherly nesting instinct is definitely kicking into gear. I think the baby was what I needed to motivate me to do some spring cleaning, which has been…oh maybe…two years overdue. So I’ve decided to make March spring cleaning month and to help keep me accountable, I’m going to try and participate in Project Simplify 2012 which I found on the Simplemom website. Basically, every week she tells you a particular hotspot to focus on for cleaning and if you upload your before and after pictures to the website by the end of the week, you’re automatically entered into a drawing for a prize. Get a prize for cleaning my apartment? How can you beat that? Unfortunately, I already missed the first week of the project because last week was long and crazy and we were away for the weekend. But this week, I’m ready to tackle my assignment – pantry & fridge! Time to finally throw out all the stuff in my fridge and cabinets that expired two years ago. Doesn’t that sound exciting? You know you want to do it too. Join me and you might just win a prize!
Check back here after Sunday and hopefully you’ll see the before and after pictures of my soon-to-be completely organized and clean kitchen. I know you can’t wait, but try not to lose sleep over it. Go and clean your own fridge instead.
